Sustainability Statement
Vandome & Hart Ltd is fully committed to reducing the impact that the products we sell and the packaging it uses has on the planet. We are constantly monitoring and continually taking steps to minimise our carbon footprint through improved sustainability practices.
Sustainability is a key purpose of our business proposition. The products we supply allow companies to improve their efficiency in operation, ensure accuracy in production and help reduce waste. Customers save time and money by implementing weighing processes that help to meet quality needs and controls demand.
Our People
Vandome & Hart employs people nationally to help provide a local service and support, minimising transport effects on the environment by ensuring our drivers are either staying or living locally. We work with our transport providers wherever possible to ship goods to customers using the most environmentally friendly methods. We also carry out most of our deliveries in our own vehicles planning the shortest routes.
Our Products
We continually check our suppliers products environmental impact is considered. For example we can offer scales that often use recycled materials in components such as product case housing, glass and packaging. We recommend variety products that are designed with longevity in mind to minimise the impact of waste at end of life disposal.
Our Packaging and Recycling
Packaging materials are designed to use carboard wherever possible and all waste is sorted into separate bins and taken by our own vehicles to our local recycling facility in Swanley reducing the need for collection and carbon footprint of large collection lorries.
Our Employees
Our greatest assest is the staff who work for our company. Many of these employees have been working for us for over 30 years and some for even longer. This demonstrates that Vandome & Hart provides a healthy safe and happy environment. The company pays a living wage to all of it employees. All insurance, benefits and pension schemes are provided and all taxes are paid in the UK. The company respect the right of the employees to form a union and carry out any negotiations under collective bargaining. We are happy to work with unions in the factory to help ensure that a positive and safe working environment exists.
Our Management
The Company Management communicates regularly with employees regarding benefits and legislation. A culture of respect and fairness when working with colleagues exists in all areas.
Our Suppliers
Suppliers are audited for their compliance against the company’s requirements to forbid child labour, forced labour or any kind of unsatisfactory working conditions. A Code of Conduct for suppliers has been issued detailing our expectations for both our business partners and for suppliers who sign and agree to abide by it.

Vandome & Hart does not tolerate any form of corruption. All staff are supplied with details of anti-corruption legislation and notices are prominently displayed.
